Sofitel Bora Bora Marara Beach Resort
The Sofitel Bora Bora Marara Beach Resort is located near Matira Point on the main island of Bora Bora. The resort has 55 bungalows and each is designed in a contemporary style. The Sofitel Bora Bora Marara features a variety of Garden, Beach and Overwater Bungalows.
Italian film producer Dino De Laurentis originally built the resort to house the crew of his 1979 film "The Hurricane." Today, the resort remains proud of their hollywood heritage. Vintage photographs of the cast and crew are prominently displayed in the appropriately named Hurricane Bar.
The Sofitel Bora Bora Marara has a convenient location. It's easy to visit the town of Vaitape as well as many of the island restaurants, including Bloody Mary’s. Recreational facilities include an infinity pool and spa. Guests may also purchase a day pass to the sister property -- Sofitel Bora Bora Private Island Resort.
Starting March 1, 2018 the hotel will begin major renovations. The hotel will remain open during this time. There is currently no end date for the work to be finished.
