Featuring the Aranui 5
The Aranui 5 is the culmination of a 30-year-long pursuit for the ultimate passenger-cargo ship. Connecting Tahiti with the Marquesas Islands, the Aranui 5 provides the local population with food, medicine and other important materials. The ship plays a vital role in Marquesan life, while at the same time, offering visitors an opportunity to discover these remote & wild islands. Designed to offer all of the comforts of a cruise liner, while still operating as a supply ship, the Aranui 5 accommodates approximately 254 passengers in 103 cabins.
Follow the path of Paul Gauguin, Robert Louis Stevenson, Thor Heyerdahl or Jacques Brel. Make new friends as you watch the colors of the sunset play against the sky and sea. After a 3 course dinner, let the lively Aranui Band introduce you to the rhythms of Polynesia. Learn to swivel your hips to the infectious beat of the Tamure. Grab a partner and try your hand at the Tahitian Waltz.
With 8 different guest decks, the interior of the ship reflects the Polynesian heritage of her owners and crew. The ship has a restaurant where all the meals are served in a casual setting. There are 2 lounges and 4 bars, including the Sky Bar with panoramic views. The ship has an outdoor pool, a boutique, a massage room and a gym. There are also 2 conference rooms, where guest lecturers will speak on a variety of topics relating to the Marquesas.
With cabin cruises of 6, 9, 10 and 13 nights, you have the option of embarking in Tahiti or Nuku Hiva. The family-friendly atmosphere of the boat means you can easily bond with the crew while also meeting the local population. You will visit incredible places steeped in history. Descendants of the greatest navigators of all time, the ancient Polynesians who settled these islands, named them “The Land of Men.”
On these remote islands, the arrival of the Aranui is always met with great enthusiasm as they provide an essential link to the outside world. Copra, citrus fruit, fish and barrels of Noni are loaded for Papeete. Watching the crew load & unload the ship is part of the attraction and charm of the voyage.
At the end of your cruise, you’ll have a day room at the Tahiti Pearl Beach Resort. Located on a beautiful black sand beach with views of Moorea in the distance, the Tahiti Pearl Beach is the perfect place to end your vacation. Be sure to take advantage of the resort facilities. Lounge by the pool or explore the black sand beach. Visit the crafts store with wonderful items from local artists. Shop for Tahitian pearls. And please don’t forget to enjoy a relaxing massage at Le Spa. Before leaving the resort, you’ll enjoy a lovely dinner. And then, when you are refreshed and ready to go, we’ll bring you to the airport for your return flight home.
