Why Trust True Tahiti Vacation? I Didn't Just Visit Tahiti, I Lived It.

When it comes to planning a vacation in French Polynesia, firsthand experience matters.

As the founder of True Tahiti Vacation, I didn't learn about Tahiti by researching it in a guidebook and going on a few yearly trips. I discovered it by going there on my own, staying for over 20 years, and falling completely in love with it...

Before moving to Tahiti, I was a single, workaholic business-owner who needed to hit the reset button on life. So, in 2000, I packed up my things and took off on a 6-month scuba diving vacation to the Islands of Tahiti. During that fateful trip, not only did I fall in love with Tahiti’s many islands and atolls — I also fell in love with a Tahitian. After more than 20 years of living on Moorea and raising my children there, I now live back in California, but one thing hasn't changed: my love for The Islands of Tahiti and the joy I receive by sharing its beauty through the trips I plan for people.

What began as an adventure became over two decades of my life lived on Moorea and traveling through the Islands of Tahiti. My experience with French Polynesia as a resident rather than a visitor changed the way I see Tahiti — and the way I plan travel there.

So whether you’re looking for an unforgettable honeymoon, or a much needed vacation to Tahiti, you can trust True Tahiti Vacation's wealth of insider knowledge, network of contacts and decades of first-hand experiences to create a stress-free trip with memories to last you a lifetime.

BORA BORA HONEYMOON

"Our dinner at Villa Mahana was our favorite, but I think this is obvious. We are sure you had something to do with us being able to eat at the private table on top of the restaurant and we want to thank you for that. The experience here was incredible...

We cannot thank you enough for organizing a trip of a lifetime...

Thank you for EVERYTHING. You went above and beyond all our expectations."

TAHITI FAMILY VACATION

"I looked at other agencies like Costco Travel and AAA, but all the representatives I spoke with had never even been to Tahiti and couldn't answer many of my questions.

A friend of mine recommended True Tahiti Vacation to me-so I started working with Laurel from True Tahiti Vacation. She answered all my questions, recommended restaurants, activities, etc. ..."

To move, to breathe, to fly, to float, to gain all while you give,
to roam the roads of lands remote, to travel is to live.

Indulge in Polynesian Culture

A trip to The Islands of Tahiti isn’t complete without experiencing its rich cultural heritage. The Polynesian people are known for their warm hospitality and deep connection to their ancestral traditions. Visitors can attend traditional Tahitian dance performances, which are often accompanied by live drumming and fire dance shows. Tahitian dance performances, known as 'Ori Tahiti,' are a celebration of the islands’ history, people and culture. For a more interactive experience, you can visit local villages to learn about traditional Polynesian crafts like tapa making (bark cloth), pareo dyeing or wood carving. Some Bora Bora resorts even have these activities offered right on the property. Trying Polynesian cuisine is another cultural highlight, with dishes like poisson cru (a dish made with raw fish and coconut milk) or ma’a tinito (Chinese-inspired stew).

Let the beauty we love, be what we do.
